I folks,

We're trying to help a fellow rpod neighbor in our campground.  His front door is stuck closed. Its as though the door is locked but the key turns without catching anything.  Any thoughts?

Front door? Do you mean the storage door? If it is on a 179 (or similar), you can reach the inside of the door by lifting the bed platform on the inside. I think the cylinder may have come loose or something.

Thanks...no. It was the actual camper entry door. Ended up drilling the locks out which was very painful for me to watch  Cry

Ouch! Both locks? Did the key break or something, or did the locks just fail? Any sign that someone had tampered with it (them)?

Seemed like the deadbolt broke inside the mechanism. don't think it was tampered with.  I guess he'll replace it now.

Very sorry to hear about that. Were you on a camping trip when it happened?

Shame they drilled it. Never know for sure now.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. It's typically just pressure against the cams within the lock. Meaning, applying pressure, as in closing the door, will relieve that pressure on the cams. There's a dust sleeve/cover on our cam locks, yet moisture/dust will still get in and jam it up.

Again, sorry to hear they drilled it. I'm no professional but I can pick a cam lock in under a minute.. They are simple in design!
