Whew! The 177's been parked in the barn for a loooong time. We have been having personnel "challenges" for over a year, but we finally have faith enough to get out of town for a few days in early November. It's the most wonderful time of the year in North Florida.
Nevertheless, we will be camping fairly close to home at Manatee Springs State Park in Chiefland, Florida. We consider this our "home park" since it is a quick 40 minute drive with the R-Pod, and less than that if we have to dash home for any reason. It's a lovely park sited by a first magnitude spring that feeds millions of gallons of fresh water to the Suwanee River every day.
The best part, as always, is getting away from the daily grind. No fancy "glamping" for us- hot dogs one night, hamburgers one night, Chinese carry-in the first night- Campfires every night. Red wine and classical music. I sit and watch until the embers die.
Taking my day off tomorrow to go out to the barn for some maintenance, cleaning and re-supply. That's actually almost as relaxing as the camping!
