We would like any recommendations that you may have for dog fencing around the r-pod. We have three medium sized dogs and we would like to add secure fencing so that we can let them have access to the outside or inside. Thanks!

We have only one dog, a 70 pound Lab and also have wondered about this.
Unfortunately, there is no fence that will contain a poorly trained dog, and trailer camping is absolutely full to the brim with interesting things for a poorly trained dog to want to investigate. Obviously, the first step is to train the dog to stay around the trailer and to come when called. Our r-dome helps a lot, but there is just no substitute for close attention by the dog owner.

Just back from nice trip to the Mobile area, I want to expand on this a little.
One of many advantages of the r-dome over an awning is that it is enclosed. We have taught our Lab to only enter or leave it if 'ordered', as in 'ok', same as at the front door of our house. Our Lab is very 'biddable' but recently when a rabbit darted past, her prey instinct kicked in and she chased it, right into the r-dome's wall. It held and it thereby maintained our rule that she isn't allowed 'out' unless ordered. I don't know of any practical fence that would have worked even half as well, because she can jump pretty high.

Why don't you get some of the fencing that the goat herders use out west where they have goats roaming all over the place to eat up stuff that can burn. It's basically a nylon netting. It rolls up and they throw it into the back of the truck when they move the goats to the next site. It is about $126 for 164'.or $85 for 82'. It'll also keep other non-flying predators out of the enclosed area, like small children.
 [You don't really have to turn on the electric part, at least after they've learned not to touch it.]

Sounds like loads of fun around the campground. Just leave the electric off until they're touching it and then - zap! The children I mean, not the poor innocent dog.

We have one 80lb dog. On a campground he is secured by leash and halter when outside. Not sure what the benefit of a temp fence would be, but I'm not prepared to chance that. There is a liability issue here. Years ago I used to do livestock fencing. The test for a goat fence was throw a bucket of water at it, if the water goes thru so will a goat:)

mcarter, the suggestion of an electric fence was a joke, ergo the devil emoji.
Of course, one would not really want to turn on electricity in such a fence where others could come into contact with it, children, adults, or the pets of others. It would indeed result in a possible injury claim, not to mention a violation of park rules. On the other hand, if you're out in the boondocks and have a bunch of goats with you, it would work really well.

Thanks, we would never leave our dogs unattended, I was just looking for some ideas to let them safely enjoy the outdoors with us. One of our dogs is great at making us feel guilty about leaving her inside while we are sitting outside :-).
