Topic: bathroom sink & shower don't work Posted: 20 Mar 2019 at 11:45am |
Hello. I'm new to this forum and new to owning an R-Pod. I have a 2017 M180 and took it camping last week. The water in the kitchen sink works, but I wasn't able to get water from the bathroom sink and shower. Is there some type of shut off valve that I'm not aware of? While I camped, I used the water pump from the fresh water tank, and at another park I used city water connection. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

FR supplies no separate cutoff for those fixtures. The best I can offer is to start trouble shooting from the faucet end, remove the shower head and see if you have flow from the hose, remove the hose and see if you have flow from the fixture, etc.

Try removing the end piece at the sink and shower, most likely debris will be found in the strainer/screen. Unfortunately quite a few owners have encountered this problem. Would be a good idea for FR to run some water through the lines before shipping them out to the dealers so this wouldn't happen. Or maybe the dealers should do this so you wouldn't have this happen to you.

I had a similar problem in my 180 when the cold water in the bathroom sink magical quit working while on a trip. To solve the problem I removed the cold water valve in the bathroom faucet. Attached a piece of hose line with a air tank coupler fitting on the hose to the city water inlet. Then set my air compressor to 40 psi, threw a towel over the removed faucet valve and connected the compressor to the hose and shot air threw the system which blew out what ever was clogging the cold water line to the sink. Presto, no more clogged water line.

Thanks to all for your fixes. I seems that the filters at the sink and shower were pretty dirty. I'm back in business! Thanks again.

You should also get into the habit of removing the anode rod in the hot water tank after each use. As it is immersed in water it will degrade slightly and generate white particles that can also clog your faucets. Also, be sure to use a water filter for the city water line. That can catch any sediment in the water before it enter the pod water lines.
