I removed the factory dinette legs/frame and installed a removable single pedestal leg, and table bases to the floor and to bottom of the tabletop.  It opens up the dinette area soooo much.  I also attached two 90 degree marine latches to the underside of the table top and to the wall.  It is so sturdy, it's like the table is part of the camper.

I tried posting photos, not sure if it worked

It did not work. On this web site, you need to upload the photos to a web site that will host the pictures for you AND they must have an appropriate file extension (E.G. ".jpg").

The pedestal system works very nicely, but it is probably a good idea to not travel with the heavy OEM particle board table top on the pedestal.  You idea of stowing it away is a good way to deal with it.  We got a Costco low profile plastic card table and attached a pedestal base on the bottom and it is light enough that we can travel with it in place.  But, if you want to use the dinette as a bed, it won't work.  I can't imagine using the fold out table legs, they just take up far too much room in a very limited space.

As for posting fotos, try using postimage.org.  It is pretty simple to use.
