Hi all was wondering what to do about the panel that wiggle under the fridge. It rocks back and forth, the wire showe awful design. Any ideas?

Yep, it’s a weak spot for sure. So far I’ve just moved my panel over slightly and replaced what looked like drywall screws with self tapping sheet metal screws. When I run out of room for that I plan to use bolts and nylocks. Others have tried reworking the wiring, I’ll leave that to them for comment.

Thank you. I just think that if the wires were put up because it causes the panel to push out.

I have a 2019 179 that I picked up the end of July last year (which still makes me a newbie) and trying to find out what is where I have had the panel under the frig off a couple of times and mine is mounted into some square steel stock behind the panel and it is secured with 4 beefy self tapping screws. Which as I remember they are fairly long screws thus when reinstalling the panel you have to be careful to catch the square stock. I haven't had any problem with mine panel falling off or pushing out either. Hope this helps. Jay

FWIW, we have had the panel off a couple of times, and it seems pretty secure. Further, the wire loom has an S curve in it, and it does not get hung up when the slide out goes in or out.
Is this maybe just an issue with east coast RP-179s? |

2015 179 here. My panel was held on by 8 staples, of which only two were into something solid. A roll of paper towels got behind it underway, and it popped off when we ran the slide out.

It is a very bad design. Was thinking about replacing it with a better piece of wood on a hinge then place elastic across to hold shoes.

Adding a hinge is on our to-do list, but the hinge needs to be able to swing both ways.
