I am thinking I want a small table for those campsites that do not have a picnic table. Rather than one that I have to fold or roll up, I have this idea of a folding table that is permanently attached to the outside wall of the Pod say over the wheel well. I was actually thinking of building one out of HDPE, but found my idea already being produced and sold in Australia.

They are called "Caravan RV picnic folding External Table" and come in several sizes. Depending on the mfg, they are powder coated aluminium, or some type of ABS plastic. They are on Ebay US and Ebay AU, then I also found them on AliExpress.  Yes, I will have to drill holes for rivit's or screws to attach the table to the siding, but i am ok with that as long as the product is built out of quality material. Here are some links so y'all can see what I am talking about:

Anyway, I like the idea. I wonder if we could do a group buy and get the cost down under $200 delivered for the 450mmx800mm size?

I could build one slightly cheaper, but not sure if it would be as nice and it would take some effort.

I wouldn't see any issue with it other then finding room on the camper that was where I wanted to use it.. and the cost.

Since I often set up my cooking area away from the camper, we bought one of these, and are very happy with it..

Another easy way to go might be a removable table, using some of this "track"..

I am trying to avoid having to store a outside table. I was looking at track mounted tables, then at SS folding brackets to make my own attached table. The folding SS brackets are cheap and sturdy and attaching a HDPE top would be a piece of cake, but I am not sure how it would look folded down on the wall when not in use>

Brackets:

I do agree that proper placement would be critical, since moving it would be verbotten.

Hint.. when writing your post.. Open the target link in a browser, and copy the URL. Highlight your Link word, in the above post "Brackets".
Then, click the "link" icon in the control window, it's right next to the spell check icon. In that window, your highlighted word will appear. REPLACE it by pasting in your URL, then left arrow to, and remove the HTPP text, click finish. This will give you clickable links.. Wink

Given that the outside measurements indicate (if my calculations are correct) that the table linked above is less than three feet long (outside frame measurements, table would be less), I don't think the cost is justified, even if it could be gotten down to less than $200. 800mm=31-1/2"; 450mm=17-23/32" or 2.62'x1.48'.

Edit: You could possibly use something like this which is available for a whole lot less:

Next size up is 450mmx1000mm. And yes they are giving an overall measurement, so the table itself would be at least 2" smaller.

I am looking at small griddles, like the Blackstone 17" propane(my current grill/griddle from the motorhome is way too big). If cooking on that I would have to be careful not to melt the table base when cooking.

Here's my table. $40 in materials, and a fun rainy day project.
pics of the process in the slopod link below.

In spite of the fact that you will have to store it, I still like the Tailgater Tire Table
