Freedom of speech is extremely important.

Excessive political correctness is the death of much in life that is enjoyable, like comedy and free discussion. I think you are too sensitive about this subject. Like pornography ("I don't know what it is, but I know it when I see it"), excessive mention of religion or politics or guns is hard to define but clear when seen.

I agree that excess mention of politics or religion or guns must be controlled in this forum, I just haven't seen it here.

Relax.

It's always tricky discussing the behavior of humans, their motivations and reasoning, and cognitive dissonance with out treading into areas of religion, philosophy, politics, economics, and other factors that motivate our behavior.

The rules specifically cite discussion. If you were to post a message deliberately aimed at your personal beliefs, that may be an issue. However a message such as God Bless is not a discussion.

Does this mean the word God or our creator or  perhaps the word church can not be used. I just want to understand so I am not breaking any rules. I don't fully understand, if you could clarify what you mean as far as religion that would help. Thank you

Me three. I just think it's funny the lack of personal responsibility. The "devil made me do it" mentality. Like why did you kill the whole family - the babysitter was mean to me, that's the problem babysitters.

Let's be careful about exercising our "freedom" on our free forum. Perhaps it is just me but, I'm noticing more religious and, to a lesser degree, political statements expressed. We all know that we don't do that here. We remain neutral in such matters in that we just don't speak to them here. To allow them would guarantee that the forum would devolve into a cesspool of bickering, insults, etc. - a place nobody would care to visit. The absence of these divisive topics has been key to the longevity of the forum. We can all coexist when we avoid that which would certainly divide us.

Being so fundamental to our success lends high priority to "policing" this sort of thing. If we can't "police" ourselves then, the caretakers are forced to step in and take corrective measures. It would be unfortunate if the caretakers had to start singling out members - to have their posts approved, prior to being displayed in the forum. We know what the rules are - both in letter and spirit. Do the right thing.

Want to express your faith? Wonderful but, do it elsewhere.
Republican or Democrat? Wonderful but, do it elsewhere.

Again, just do the right thing.
