Hi I am a Newbe to this
I have a 2014 178. Just got back from LaPine Oregon. Very cold. Prod water frozen. Small 3/8 hose from water tank under pod frozen. Heat tape fixed it. But I noticed the connection to city water was dripping water. Not connected to hose. Is there a check valve or why could this happen? Ice cycles coming off side of pod.

Without looking hard to tell. The input is from a city water connection and there is not a check valve. It is an input not an outlet.

Is it above freezing where you are now? If not, you may not be able to do a thorough examination until you know everything is thawed out.

I would try to get all the water out, and remove the caps on all the low point drains. If you're certain it is all thawed out, you may want to clear the lines with compressed air.

Okay, city water does have a check valve that is supposed to allow water to flow in but stop it from flowing out when the water pump is used. If you look under the cover, you can see a little post sticking up in the middle of the inlet. Press that and it will open the check valve. Let it go and the valve should shut. It could be that something opened it (a piece of grit or something like that) enough so that it could let a little water out. If that froze, the pressure of the expanding ice might have forced it open further. Gentle heat such as a hair dryer on low should thaw it. Then check to see if something is blocking the check valve from fully closing.

SH,

You may have to remove the screen and washer to see the check, correct?

Yes, you remove the screen, the number one issue with a leaking backflow valve is someone removing the screen, and then replacing it backwards.. the cone shape of the screen will then just slightly depress the little tit that sticks out from the check valve.. So.. usually the fix is to remove the screen, jiggle that little thing, then replace the screen cone shape outwards..

Just so that we are all together, you do know about the importance of winterizing?

The "small 3/8 hose" sounds like a low point drain.
