Has anyone replaced the roof shroud for the Dometic Duo-Therm Penguin AC model 600312.321?  I tried to get information today and it was a real adventure.  Various sites, such as Camping World, had shrouds that they claimed would fit, but when I measured what I have vs. what they had, it was going to be a square peg in a round hole issue.  I called FR and they, as usual, were really nice, but I think they also gave me part number for a larger shroud.  No measurements were available.

I called Dometic and was given both the part number used at FR and another one, 3308046.006 [FR's ended in .014], but no one had any measurements available and there is a no return policy at Dometic.  So, in a desperate effort to replace the shroud before we leave for central and southern CA, I ordered the ICON after market one.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IABALBO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I called the ICON Direct company and got the correct measurements (Amazon's were a little off) and they assured me that the one they sell will fit.  They also claim it's made of a sturdier plastic.  At least with Amazon, I can return it if it doesn't fit.

So, has anyone had any experience with shroud replacement?  Used the ICON after market?  Any suggestions?

It's supposed to arrive Wednesday (another advantage of Amazon) so I'll report back on whether it fits.

Tried to install the shroud today and it's too small.  Not wide or long enough by almost an inch.  It's a nice shroud and seems to be of good quality plastic.  But sadly, it doesn't fit the Dometic Model 600312.331, part number 3308046.006.

I found an OEM on Amazon and it's supposed to arrive on Thursday.  Checked other places and Amazon had the best price including shipping.  I'm returning the ICON to Amazon with no problems so far.

The OEM shroud arrived a day early and I put it on.  It came with a new foam gasket kit, which the ICON didn't have.  And, best of all, it fit perfectly.  The plastic seems a little thinner and more flexible, but I suspect the old one had gotten a little brittle over the years.  The hardest part was getting the correct part number.  Dometic was able to cross-reference the number based on the model and serial number.

The only bad thing that happened, was one of the screws went flying off the top of the trailer into gravel.  Some day, I'll see its faint glimmer in the sun, but at least I was able to locate another screw Ed's RV Repair.  It's a specialty screw with a little spacer built into the shaft so it doesn't put pressure on the plastic.  They sent me to their junk pile and I found one on an old ac unit that I was able to salvage.  Thanks to the folks at Ed's.
