Topic: Getting a Durango as my next TV and have ?? Posted: 01 Nov 2018 at 5:39pm |
Our 3.6L v-6 is still going strong at 145,000 miles. They are a good engine.

Sounds like a great choice. I am really happy with my Durango V6. I don't use any sway control of any kind and don't experience any. I have a 2016 limited with awh.

Great decision, I’m with you 100%. Can’t go wrong keeping the wdh on the new tv. The other benefit of a wdh is that since it moves load back to the front axle in an emergency stop you’ll have more load on the wheels with the best brakes.

I'll have to figure out how to set up the E2. I've never had to deal with Nivomat load-leveling rear shocks before, so I don't know what to expect. The only thing I've learned is that you want to drive the rig around without weight distribution to allow the shocks to adjust before you add and adjust WD.

Maybe someone here knows how to do it, you might want to start a new thread.
My first thought would be that since the object of the wd hitch is to get the front axle weight back where it was without the trailer and since the load leveling shocks are on the rear axle they probably don’t much change the normal wdh setup procedure (measuring the height of the vehicle above ground at the front axle).

No good advice here. Interesting topic. Agree with a added post.

You should be able to defeat the load leveling to do the WDH setup. Even with the load leveling the weight distribution should end up close to the same place.

I tow a 179 with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6L with the tow package, E2 hitch, this is the short version of the Durango.
The Nivomat shocks didn't have any impact on setting up the E2.
I have no towing issues.

You will have to use mirror extensions. My 2018 Durango is narrower than our Ram truck. I tried to talk to someone at Dodge about towing with the automatic leveler, tire pressure, and correct gear for straight and level towing. they couldn't find anyone who knew. It took me 6 months to find out where the battery is. In case you were wondering, it is under the front passenger seat. But we like the vehicle.
