I'm eyeballing the floor plan for the 195 that is supposed to be available this coming spring. As much as I like our 179, the idea of a walk-around queen is very attractive.  I'm also 5'10" (used to be 5" 10.5" but have shrunk a little bit with age). I fit on the short queen, but not by much.

Well...let me re-phrase...I'm short enough to not have to worry about the height of the Casita.  How's that?

Appreciate the feedback.  We did a walkthrough of both the R-Pod and Casita and there is no doubt that the R-Pod models w/ slide outs have more space and all have more head room.  However, my wife and I are short people (5'10" and 5'4"), so the inside height isn't much of an issue for us.  You actually are the first person that has expressed a concern about the ground clearance of the Casita when equipped with the lift.  That's something I'll need to evaluate.  Thanks!

When I was looking for a small trailer, I looked at the fiberglass trailers like the Casita and found that they all had very low to the ground suspensions.  It appeared that even adding a lift, as I did to our Pod, would not allow adequate clearance to get in and out of the driveway, much less traverse a bumpy, pot hole filled Forest Service road.  Another issue was adequate headroom, though that is offset by lower outside height.  "At the end of the day" [an over used cliché] you have to try to match the trailer to your needs and should get what works best for you.  Best of luck in your selection.

And, Buckeye, congratulations on your new acquisition.

I have not.  I have other financial priorities at the moment, but I'm hoping to be in a position to pull the trigger later this year.  I like the new 2019 191 pod plan...also, the 189 and the 171.  I like the 171 for its simplicity and the fact that it does not have a slide out.  I feel the more moving parts, the more chance of problems.  But the sofa option on the 189 is attractive and the layout of the 191 looks appealing.  The Casita is still very much in the running..the new 2019 gray-accents on the interior is very nice and, again, I like the simplicity of the Casita as well as the durability.  We'll see...thank you for asking.

Royal did you ever pull the trigger on a camper?

I would look at it this way(coming from a guy that has owned around 10 campers in 35 years), a reasonably priced used trailer won't be too much of a financial burden if you should decide to sell. If you are not seeing many used R-Pods in your area just widen your search pattern. There seem to be plenty in the mid atlantic.

And I agree that the Casita or Oliver are better made, but the R-Pod is quite capable of doing many miles and many nights without any real issues. If you buy new, then decide to sell you will take a larger hit, even with the higher priced brands.
