Clogged arteries from bacon fat should get me long before something like that.. at least that's the odds.. 
I do find the "spreading rapidly along the east coast" interesting.. Arkansas isn't on the east coast, nor is attached to the other states that have had the tick show up..

My wife had Rocky Mountain Spotted fever.  Anecdotal, yeah, but the odds of things like this aren't as long as they used to be....

HA! Well, I have no dependents or spouse anymore so, OK in that area. Dixie may consider me a "source of food" (not a "food source") but that is OK. She is worth it!
