New to me 2015 179, the 12v water pump seems to be sucking air when my fresh water tank gauge shows 1/3 tank still remaining. Is there a way to recalibrate these sensors? No idea yet if the black and gray sensors are accurate.

Those lights/sensors seem like they ought to be a good idea but they are useless. You just need to learn to judge levels for yourself. It's not too hard after a while. TT

Tank monitor lights are hokum. If the pump was running fine, and now isn't odds are good you are out of water.. With experience, you will learn to ignore those lights, and have a solid feel for the actual status of your tanks..

If you look where the line comes out of the tank, you will see that it is above the bottom of the tank. As the tank empties and the water level nears the level of the hose, it can start pulling air if it creates a little vortex. The water may still be an inch or two above the hose, but it can still pull air. Why the tank is not made so the water draws from closer to the bottom is beyond me unless it is so that any stray sediment can settle in the bottom of the tank and not get pulled up into the pump.

Yeah, I'm familiar with pump cavitation lol, been fighting fire for 18 years. You know, if they would put a ping pong ball or a wiffle ball in the tank during manufacture, that would disrupt the vortex and prevent cavitation. Hmmm...wonder if I could get a patent? 😀
