pull my pod with a 2014 tundra with a sway bar and no distribution hitch. How many of y’all use a distribution hitch and have y’all pulled it with and without the distribution hitch. Your opinion which is better

No Dist hitch....Use a single say bar on my Tacoma.... No problem... RPod doesn't weigh enough to warrant dist hitch.

I first towed our Pod without anything but the ball hitch. Then I got the Andersen hitch and towing was much better. I recommend the Andersen hitch but I've never used anything else either.

Our F-150 doesn't care one way or the other with the R-pod. I do like the way it rides better with the WDH.

I pull with a 2002 Tundra with sway bar and no weight distribution hitch. Can't compare to a WDH setup, but I have no problems without it.

You have to be very careful with a standard friction sway bar not to back at too sharp of an angle or else you can cause some pretty significant damage to the sway bar and attachment points. With a WDH like a Fastway E2 or Andersen, there are no such restrictions.

This is all I'm going to say about this subject. Tow with a 2016 Tundra with WDH, wouldn't leave home without it.

I tow a 179 with a Ridgeline V6 - using an equalizer hitch. Definitely more stable on the highway with the WD hitch. The Pod tracks more smoothly and almost no sway even when passed by big rigs. I've only driven it a little without the WD and definitely noticed a difference.
As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

Have towed our 177 with 3 different vehicles. 1) '94 Ford F-150 4x4 w/318,000 miles and 31 deer kills, no sway bar or wdh needed, tows just fine! A bit on the rusty side now but is still a reliable truck. 2) '08 Ford Explorer with sway bar, again, towed real good. 3) '13 Ford Explorer with sway bar, tows real nice, no issues or problems even while in the Rockies, have been there 4x over the past 7 years with our 177. Have to agree with Bum, make sure you loosen the sway bar link BEFORE backing up or you will be needing to order another one. Fortunately I haven't done this but have heard of others who have made this oversight while backing up.
