Topic: Inside lighting & AC questions Posted: 18 Jun 2018 at 4:54pm |
Hi, we’ve had our RPod 180 for our second season and love so much about it. We do think the inside lights are a bit too bright for sitting inside at our table. We want to know if anyone has mad adjustments so softer lights at night. Also when we’ve had our AC on the heat will come on after about 15 minutes. We will be going to the same music festival that this occurred last year in late July and it’s really hot. We don’t want that to happen again. Oh and we do use 2 generators which were used when this happened. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

You could try shopping around on Amazon or Ebay for LEDs that output less light. All of my interior have been changed to LED. In some fixtures, I used 10 diode arrays. In other, 6 diode arrays. Also, I prefer "soft white".

You can also purchase RV ceiling lights with dimmers. I can't find them on etrailer, but eBay sells them.

I bought a few replacement lights to match the original ones that I added (see link below). Says they're dimmable but require a switch. Poke around on Amazon, maybe you can find replacements that are lower output.

The super bright lights you probably have are the 5000K light output, kind of a bluish white and extremely bright. We opted for the 2800K output which is more yellowish and quite similar in color to the incandescent color you are probably used to.

If you poke around on Amazon or Ebay, you can find a lot of alternatives. This is surface mount like the OEM lights, but also ahave a built-in dimming capability.

Greetings
I took the covers off and put a piece of paper inside the cover on some of the lights. They create little heat and that helps reduce the bright light. Cheap fix. I also installed a strip florescent light on the end of the bed for a reading light. Of course it's 120 so usable only when on SP.
