Nope, with that version, you just cook on the metal turntable, no matter what.

I assume by "ring", you mean the thing that the glass plate floats on. Yes, that would make sense because convection cooking is all about even air flow and a rotating plate would aid with that. |

We have an earlier Pod with an all-metal plate with permanent, pretty short, legs. About high much higher is the unit with 'long legs down'? I suppose I could raise the rack by putting it on an upside down metal pie tin(?).

When baking, use the rack with the short legs down, when broiling, long legs down.

Yes, both the glass plate and rack can be left in when used in convection mode. In fact, convection works best when the heated air can get all around the food (top, bottom, and sides); the rack allows air to reach the bottom of your cooking vessel. If you use microwaves at all, whether my themselves or combined with convection, the rack needs to be taken out.

We just used our new RP189 this past weekend and really loved it BTW but we had a silly question about using the convection oven. When using the convection oven feature is it okay to leave in the glass plate that rotates in? We also have a rack that I wasn't sure how it should be used either. Thanks.
