For storage purpose, can I cut out a lower portion of the wall to the left of the entry door to insert a storage cabinet between the two walls, without running into the wiring for the control panels mounted higher on the wall? retiree04

Welcome back. Without knowing which model, it is hard to say. It is possible that there is not only wiring in that space, but also a vent stack. Before cutting, look on your roof above the space in question and make sure there is no tank vent above it. Wires are fairly easy to move aside. Vent stacks aren't.

I have the same concern about installing a recessed toilet paper holder. I've thought about getting one of those wifi optical probes to see what's inside the wall before I start cutting, but it still requires at least one hole in the wall. I could detach the shower sink I suppose and feed it in behind that.

If you take out the sink, a simple flashlight and mirror combination could work for viewing. You don't necessarily have to spend the money on a fancy optical probe.

Thanks! My 177 r pod does have the overhead vent pipe that appears to be over the hollow space so I will not cut into the wall for additional storage.

Good thing you checked before you cut.

I have a 172, I put in a recessed cabinet above the toilet, the wall behind is a 2 x 4 wall. If the wall has a stack in it, it's normally a 2 x 4 |

Yeah, it really would have stunk if you didn't find that out beforehand...literally. |

Mine is sunk into the wall by 3", the cut out served for the back of the cabinet. |
