Hi all,
Just purchased the 179 3 days ago. Towing with a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Hemi V-8, air suspension and factory tow package. Plenty of power with the V8 and the air shocks did a nice job of leveling when the trailer is hooked up. Adding a concrete pad extension to my driveway for its parking space. First big trip will be from S FL to Boston area around the 4th of July. Any suggestions for great campgrounds along the way welcome. Also want to take two bikes and would prefer not to rear mount a rack. Anyone have experience with the Swagman 64600 that goes over the receiver bar up front. Will the mounted bikes compromise the turning radius? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! ![]() I do not have experience with the carrier mentioned. I agree in avoiding carrying on the rear of the trailer. |

Congratulations and welcome! I also concur with not putting much on the back. I have a Stromberg-Carlsen Trailer Tray which is where I carry our generator. Other things go in the bed of our Frontier.
As for places to stay between Florida and Boston, look for national and state parks. If you just want a quick place to stay overnight, truck stops and Walmarts are places where we have stayed. I use the RV Parky app on my phone to locate places. There are other apps also. Find one that works for you. I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories in the process. We have really enjoyed our RP179 and I have made a number of modifications (see link in signature). The 179 lends itself well to modifications to make it even better. |

For visiting Boston proper this is probably the best as it is close to public transportation to the city.

First off Welcome!
I have a month to wait before I get my 189. Waiting is getting hard, thankfully it is getting warm enough to distract myself with some fishing. No idea's on bike carriers. We will be going with folding electric scooters in the back of the TV. I have to say I have been driving our new Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado a bit the past few days. Forgot how much I loved driving a little bigger vehicle. I call it "Big Red" as she is Red, and always eager to go. That girl has attitude and the other cars give her room. After several years of hating to drive I am enjoying driving again. |
