Hello.

I have dewinterized, on city water the bathroom sink and toilet flush clean water, the kitchen sink dribbles. Shutting city water off and running on water in our tank, the water pump motor works while we use the bathroom, then shuts off when the pressure isn't needed, just like it's supposed to. Opening both the hot water and cold water faucet handles, the kitchen sink still dribbles and the water pump goes 'on' only briefly every-so-often. I removed the spout strainer and the faucet spout still just dribbles.

I am getting good pressure everywhere BUT the kitchen faucet, hot or cold. I haven't turned the water heater on yet.

??The problem seems to be in the water line(s) between the water pump and the faucets for BOTH hot and cold water??

I look forward to your comments.

HELP!

Any chance that the valve for sucking antifreeze into your system is still open?

Sounds like an obstruction in the water line that may have lodged itself inside the faucet.  Take a small flexible wire and push back as far as you can from the faucet outlet.  I would try this first w/o the outlets open to see if you can feel any obstruction.  If not, turn both outlets to open and repeat this procedure to see if the problem lies inside the faucet.  I am going outside right now to check my faucet to see where else to look or to do next.

So I just unscrewed the unit that holds the faucet down, carefully pull up and the faucet comes off, you can easily see it there would be any obstruction there.  At that point I would quickly turn the pump on and off to see if any water comes out of the white plastic basin that the faucet base fits into.  If not the problem lies in the line between the water pump and that white plastic part, about 3 feet.  Possibly a kink in the line, between the water pump and the faucet, actually check this out before proceeding to do the above.  Hopefully you will solve this issue soon.  Let us know what you find.

Ok.

While I was looking around for a length of thin wire to use as a probe, the little woman was whapping the flexible line going to the spout with the handle of a big crescent wrench. When the water was turned back on, a thin layer of grainy material was found in the bottom of the sink and the flow is now much increased.

Never underestimate the power of a big crescent wrench handle in the hands of a little lady!

So, I believe the problem is solved, but I don't remember encountering this previously in the forum.

Is it just our water?

Is there a preventative step that will avoid recurrence??

Thanks very much for your quick help!!

Other than filtering your water line, there is nothing in a POD to do that. Not sure where she was whacking, but PEX lines don't easily kink. In future would ensure you're using filters.

I was quite surprised, all she did was hold the flexible line going to the spout, down under our 171's cabinet, and GENTLY tap the line multiple times as she shifted her hold to other points on the line.

Later, I am going to insert a soft iron wire that I have that just fits the hole on the spout in and see if that won't loosen up more of the deposit.

The screen on the end of the spout also needed cleaning, we did that first in hopes of solving the problem.
