[QUOTE=jato]Crazy, in northern Michigan, where people are a bit saner (IMHO) they are trapped for their fur.

Aren't there laws against trapping people for fur, especially the sane ones?  Big smile

In Kentucky it is legal to hunt raccoons and coyotes at night during season.

Generally, if I see any nocturnal animal up and about during the day, on our property, they go in a sink hole. Last year, the pup and I had a skunk charge us at 3 in the afternoon, fairly good sized one too. Don't know if he was sick, or just crazy. Either way, outcome was the same.

I saw a raccoon not to long ago wander across my lower driveway and down to the creek on my property in the middle of the day. So I wonder if he could of gotten into some "stoner" weed patch? Guess the next time I see one in the middle of day I'll have to follow the critter! As the Little Feat song says, "Don't bogart that joint my friend, Pass it over to me!" LOL! Wink

Interesting, we have a Coyote and Hog issue in TN, but it is illegal to hunt at night. If you see a Coyote during the day, chances are they are rabid. Of course you can shoot if endangered. Raccoons are nocturnal, if you see one during day, chances are they have a health issue.

Crazy, in northern Michigan, where people are a bit saner (IMHO) they are trapped for their fur.  A few summers ago the DNR was allowing anyone who saw a raccoon during the day to "shoot on sight" as they had an intense wasting disease epidemic.  Took the numbers down dramatically, to the point to where you actually see more dead deer and skunk along the road than you do raccoon.  Used to be the other way around before the epidemic.

How about an Elton John takeoff, Rocket Pod. People have been getting high with wildlife for decades, some of them where my friends :) They were the wildlife.

Hmmm....I'm sensing a theme here -

Rock band name
Hank Williams Jr.
Beatles White album

Maybe a song??? How about

The Police/Sting "Roxanne", only instead use "Raccoon"?

"Roxanne"

Roxanne
You don't have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You don't have to sell your body to the night

"Raccoon"

Raccoon
You don't have to go to the firehouse
Those days are over
You don't have to light that doobie tonight

I may need some help with this folks!

But isn't this why we have our trailers? So that when the going gets strange, we can just hook up and drive away. Smile
