Ok, let me point out that the money won't stop there. Once you buy the pod/camper it becomes somewhat of an addiction. I can't stay away from amazon. Look at the 40,000 as a 5 - 10 year cost. I also have a frontier, and the cost of that I don't count. I have to buy a vehicle no matter what. It's actually a plus that my vehicle has some real balls and can be versatile. Many of us use the pod for different things. I not only camp with it. Sometimes i go to the casino, and I hate the hassle of getting up early, and rushing to get there before the high stakes bingo starts. I simply go the night before and camp out in the R.V. lot, wake up, go get the a.y.c.e. breakfast and casually make our way to our spot. Sometimes we go to the beach and park the pod in the parking lot, and have a home base. Even just going to visit with someone, you have your own accommodations. I have a trip to wash d.c. this summer that I probably would never have done if not for the pod. I personally hate sleeping in beds that lord knows whats gone on in it, and using public toilets. As stated only you can decide whats right for you, but you need to think of it in context.

John, We have been campers since we got married in '76. Started with a 2-person pup tent (like sleeping in a sardine can), then moved up to a 4 person Rockwood, then as the family grew purchased a 6 person Jayco which we kept for 18 years. Kids left, just back to my Babe and I so made the decision (after seeing our first r-pod in Copper Harbor, MI 2010) to purchase a 177 back in January 2011. No regrets, we love to camp, hike, see God's creation up close and personal, and meet other people in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a great country and what better way to see it than driving down the road, visiting small towns and people along the way, and seeing all this land has to offer.

Last question. Looking at a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, 5,000 lb towing capacity. OK to pull without much problem?

That sounds like you're in the right range. Do check the tongue weight and GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) to make sure you can stay inside the envelope.

IMHO if it has a V6 and 5K lbs. tow rating, it should do OK. However, this would be the least that I would feel good about recommending for an OK experience towing the Pod.
I see merit in going with something a little "beefier". If you should decide (after a time) to trade in/ go with a larger or heavier trailer, you would not have to buy a new tow vehicle, again.
Right now, I'm "rubbing my chin" about a No-Bo 19.5. Though longer & heavier than what I have.......no problem. I can tow up to nearly 10K lbs.
