Western New Jersey here. Looking into an 180. Best price so far is at Coaches in Ohio just to bad they are over 9 hours from us. Have already gleaned a ton of info here, thanks all.1 question..a 2012 Nissan Murano good enough to tow? 3,500 capacity or do I need a tad more.

Full up weight on an RP180 is ~~ 3800 lbs. Unless your Murano can be upgraded to 4500-5000 lbs, I would call it a tad too little vehicle.

Yes, whichever best suits you. You might be able to get by with the Murano and that large of a trailer in the flatlands, but mountains are likely to pose a problem.

You are, of course, the final authority for what you can tow. However, a good rule of thumb is to take the full up weight of the trailer That's either GVWR if available, or the UVW + CCC (GVWR = UVW + CCC). Then add 15% for a safety margin.

For the RP180, its UVW = 2662 and the CCC = 1170 for a GVWR of 3882.

Add 15% and you get 4407 lbs.

So I would use that when deciding on your tow vehicle.

Some people might go for a larger safety margin, and some less, but if the tow capacity of your vehicle is less than the GVWR of the trailer you are asking for trouble.

Welcome to the group.  I agree with GlueGuy.  Towing on flat land you'll probably be okay but as soon as you need some extra power to get up some hills, you'll wish you had more.

We bought from Couch's and overall it was a good experience.  We felt it was worth the drive (about 8 hours for us).

Just be aware that if you need it serviced under warranty, your local dealer may refuse.
