What does it mean to winterize a pod? I live in florida so would I even need to do this when in storage?

It means to replace the water in the lines and valves and fittings with anit freeze. I would think, just about anywhere in FLA it isn't needed, but.. this last winter, I suspect some FLA residents had stuff break.

Some people blow the water lines out with an air compressor.

As for needing it in Florida, I'd say probably not. You can always do what we did here in north Texas when we had a long freeze this winter, assuming you have AC power available: hang electric blankets under the Pod.

If you live and keep your pod in Ft Lauderdale, you shouldn’t need to winterize.
I haven’t had the need to in Orlando.

I winterize with air in North Central TN. No issues.

With our larger TT I drain the tank and water heater, blow out the lines and pour RV antifreeze in the drains.  Same with the pod.  This year I have had to replace the kitchen faucet, toilet valve and outdoor shower valves in the larger TT due to ice.  Apparently my procedure didn't get all the water out.  On the pod I followed the same procedure and had to replace the outdoor shower head due to ice.

This fall, drain the tanks, run RV antifreeze into the water lines and then blow out the lines.  Hopefully this will minimize the antifreeze taste next year and I will save the drained antifreeze for the next season.

For the past 6 years we use air to blow out our water lines; takes about 1 minute to go through the 5 hot/cold outlets 2x.  After that i use 1 pint of rv antifreeze for the 2 sink and 1 shower trap.  No problems with this method.  Still winterized here in northern Michigan and will stay that way with forecast of 6-8" of snow this weekend.  Hopefully spring will arrive soon as we will do our first campout on Lake Michigan next weekend.  Guess the furnace will get a good workout, as well as our batteries as we will be boondocking.
