Getting ready for our third camping season in an RP-179. Notable trips: Steamboat Rock State Park in WA, several hunting trips to the Tonasket - Republic areas in WA, trip to Mackay ID to see the total eclipse (Awesome, camped at Mackay Reservoir right on the center-line!), several trips to Goldendale to see the demo derby there (sadly, last year was the last derby).

Planning a trip across to MN, MI Upper Peninsula, IN, and NE next month. Hope we won't need tire chains!

Mods so far: Second deep cycle battery, portable solar panel, swapped out normal outlet for USB port equipped outlet on right side of sink, memory foam mattress (They should just leave out the factory mattress -- its a POS!), backup lights, and backup camera that serves as a  rear-view cam while driving. Oh, and a weight distribution hitch with anti-sway.

We tow with an FJ Cruiser. We get 10-12 mpg while towing but once we get there, we can go freaking anywhere!

We travel with our Irish Water Spaniel.

Good times!

TomM, welcome to the forum.  Noted you plan on crossing the U.P. of Michigan.  Do you have any specific destinations while there?  Also how much time do you plan on spending in the U.P?  We have spent a lot of time there and may be able to give you a few ideas.  PM me if you wish.
