We replaced ours with a 20"x40" folding table we got at Walmart. It tucks away nicely when we're not using it (which is most of the time).

We've had no problem with the pedestal mount on the floor. You don't really walk around in that area as you would around the entrance, galley, and head entrance. Also, it is sloped enough that it gently reminds you to not stand on it.

I don't think recessing it would be practical because you'd end up with a hole deeper than the floor thickness.

Thanks. That is what I was wondering. I still think I would need two posts for the rectangular table. If I do this, I intend to re-use the existing table top. This would also make it much easier to upgrade the cushions to make the dinette area a proper bed for guests (grandchildren).

I decided to go for it. I ordered 2 Posts and 4 Table/Floor Mounting Hubs from Camping World. With tax, it came to $55.71. When they come in, I will modify our existing table and stash the original legs until I get tired of hanging on to them or figure out another purpose for them. Smile

I am thinking if I can make it so I can drop the table to be flush with the ottomans, then I can make a cushion to then replace the back/corner/filler cushions that came with the 'Pod and have something that will be workable for company.

Stephan,
I put a recessed base in my 180. Turns out there are aluminum floor joists and I took about a 1/2" out of one of them. If i had it to do over I would have used a floor mount Base, I think it's more stable than the recessed mount. Due to the larger diameter. And since you have the larger table I would think 2 would work better.

Lots of good ideas here thanks everyone.    Stephan like to see some pics after you do your table.    I am thinking of making a new table top the same size as the existing top with leaves that would fold under the table on the ends to make it shorter so it will fit in the space under the bed when I am not using it.  Two boards across the ottomans under it would make it usable for making up the bed for the grand kids.
