I have a battery cutoff switch ready to install in the spring. Where should I mount/install this?
Near the batteries, or inside on the cabinet near the fuses, etc?  Inside the locked door might be preferred for security.

Thanks, Chris

I mounted mine in the lid of one of the battery cases (I have dual 6V batteries). It is the easiest place. Inside means modifications. If your R-Pod is under warranty, that could be a problem. If it is no longer under warranty, then the choice of location is a matter of personal preference.

I have a single 12V battery and mounted mine in an electrical box alongside the battery on tongue. I used a piece of all weather plywood to make mount on battery tray. I have seen some installs on inside, looks good.

I placed my switch on the inside wall near my electrical box on my RP-179.  Furpod was very helpful in providing step by step instructions on removing the box, (look for my post on installing switch). Disconnecting the box does work.  Pod has sat in 20 degree and lower weather for a month and never lost any noticeable charge with battery disconnected. I'd provide a picture but still haven't figured that one out.

We had ours dealer installed.  It is waterproof and attached directly outside the battery box bolted onto the frame.  No problems so far

We also had our dealer install the cutoff switch.  The pod was in for checkup and had him do it as an after thought.  He mounted it inside the front storage compartment (179).  It's easy to reach and protected from the weather.

Thank you very much for the replies!  That helps a lot.  I should have searched the subject before posting.
