Hello everyone
Have been looking at the 2018 Rpods,I just love them! My husband and I live in Texas and are ready for some RVing....Seems some are suggesting to go with the Hummingbird by Jayco or Forest River's Freedom Express Pilot or Coachmen Clipper. Does anyone have knowledge of these others? So glad to have found this forum. Thanks

Welcome!

If you get it by the middle of March, you might be interested in an R-Pod rally my wife and I are cohosting up at Eisenhower State Park at Lake Texoma the weekend of March 22-24.

We were looking at the Hummingbird but decided on the Rpod. We felt the Rpod was better built than the Hummingbird.

We looked at them all and then some and when all the plus and minuses were added up the R-Pod won!

Support from your local dealer is important. Depending on your willingness to fix things yourself or rely on the dealer can make a difference on who you decide to buy from.

Also, consider the whole package including warranties. Jayco gives a standard two year warranty. We owned an r-pod and now have a larger Jayco. Quality if about the same - midlevel - like the price.

But based on other owners' often horrific reports of their dealers, I would place dealer satisfaction fairly high on your list - unless you're a real do-it-yourselfer.

If you're in the DFW area, you can't beat May's RV in Lewisville for customer service.

I chose the R-Pod 180 over several other brands I looked at:
  1. Water & Holding Tanks are bigger
  2. List of options looked better
  3. I liked the Look
  4. My "Perception" was that Quality was better... However!... See following
Issues:
  1. Refrigerator LP Gas mode was broke on delivery.
  2. My Slideout Leaked.
  3. Leak on Kitchen Faucet flooded my whole cupboard.
  4. Maxx Air Fan rattle.
  5. Seals(goop) on spoiler was terrible.
Fortunately, everything was Very Professionally Repaired by my Dealer (Kroubetz of Lake Crystal, MN)... Campers are SLAPPED together! A good Dealer makes ALL the difference in the world!, choose them wisely.
