I'm not sure what you mean. Just for venting smoke out? I usually just leave the outer door open and let the smoke go out through the screen door.

That was the first question I asked the dealer when I purchased my 179, ( How did they get away without installing a vent for the gas stove).
You shouldn't have to open the door for venting out fumes or smoke or turn on your fantastic fan  but thats  what I do.

Yeah I usually set off my smoke detector 2-3 times each stay.

It's probably a good idea to open the bath ceiling vent a little when you use the stove, unless the windows and/or door are open.  When we cook, which we avoid doing inside when possible, we open the vent and often turn on the bath fan to the low setting.

Of course, when in those states other than CO, CA, OR, WA, MA, NV, and ME, you might want to close that bath vent and windows lest you alert the authorities of your nefarious personal consumption preferences.
