Thanks for all the tips and info everyone. Just ordered the WD-06 window from Vintage Tech and Mr. Bear. So be here in a few weeks.

I do have one additional question folks. When I inquired about a window with my dealer at the rv show today he mentions that some older models (couldn't confirm which model year) that there was a horizontal  brace above in the door around the window level and that removing it could warp the door. Can anyone confirm this? (StephenH I'm looking to you sir because I believe we have the same model year)

Mine did not have a horizontal brace. I have the cut-out still and there is only the foam.

Very well could be aluminum framing around door, from build videos I have seen there is. But there is no aluminum frame inside of door, the door will be solid and permit your install. You Tube has videos that show RPod builds and give you idea of what the framing looks like. When I installed my widow from Vintage Tech I encountered no framing in the door.

+1 to SH, I kept my cut out and use it to test fasteners.

I'm curious how you like your porthole door window. I'm considering putting in one but debating which one. I have a little peephole now from Lowes, thinking if I drill that hole and if I don't like it I can go to the one like you. How do you like yours? I just want something to see who might be at the door. The window on my 2016 171 is right next to the door and lets in enough light. D id you opt for one that doesn't open? How is the view looking out? Is it dark that you can't see in?

I would like to get some good advice. I'm thinking of putting in a door window on my 171. Which is the best option? I went to Lowe's today and bought a peephole but I hesitate to put it in, because I don't know if I can get my eye right up to the door because of the screen. There is already a window right next to the door, so I don't need air or light. I just want to be able to see who it is if some-body comes a knockin. Maybe the porthole type? Open type or not?

I bought mine from Vintage Technology, it opens and is screened, easy to put in and comes with a rubber seal, peep hole made no sense as the screen door is in the way. Amazon sells the same window at a much higher price. I like the fact I can open a small screened widow in door. My 2 cents.

How do you like your porthole? Can you see out good? Do they make one of those that opens?
