Just got our first R-POD 179. We'll be pulling it with a Ford van E350. Concerned about sway from passing trucks and crosswinds. Can anyone suggest an anti sway bar product that you've used with the R-Pod? The dealer we purchased from is closed for the week. We hope to head to Florida from NJ shortly.
Thanks.

clamdigger,

I use a standard friction sway bar that goes from trailer tongue to hitch, mounts on two 1" balls, some drilling required and you do need a mount on hitch. Available from many sources, Camping World, etrailer, probably Amazon. Do NOT back up with it attached.

clamdigger - recommend etrailer.com for your sway device and also recommend their Adjustable Ball Mount 6000 lb with ball mount tab, part # 7390, pricey at $144 plus, between that and $50 dollar sway you'll get free shipping. Make sure when you buy sway you get the whole kit, 2 ball, tongue mount etc.

+1 to mcarter.  Ours is a Curt friction sway bar, bought it back in May 2011 for our 177.  Makes a world of difference.  Many to pick from on Amazon or Ebay, most sell between 45 to 80 dollars.

There have been many discussions here on this topic.  While you do not need a WDH with such a large TV many people still prefer to get both anti sway and a WDH built into one.  The equalizer E2 is very popular, no drilling required and you can back up with the anti sway bars still engaged. They have two point anti sway.  You could also go with more expensive 4 point anti sway but some feel it is overkill.  But if you ever change TV or trailer you can remove it and use it on your new stuff. It is around $280 but almost double for the Equal-I-zer 4 point.

I tow with a Ram 1500 and got the Curt anti sway bar at e-trailer if you are handy it is easy to install the plate on the trailer.    Also I found that having good tires with stiff sidewalls on both the trailer and tow vehicle will greatly reduce any kind of sway issues when towing.

Friction sway bar.... One is enough on a Pod. Not recommended to back up with them on.
