It might not make any of you feel any better, but the low temp here this morning was 53°.

Seeing Leo with that fish, my mind went immediately to The Shining, and the implications thereof. Too many "d"s of course, but I'd never heard of that kind of fish before. Looks a bit like a Carp to me (at least in that picture).

This is NOT a hijack!

Ga lee! That ain't no carp!

Give me that red, a big 'ole iron skillet, a pound of butter and Chef Paul Prudhomme's world-famous Blackened Redfish Magic and we'd be eating real good! Oh, and some dirty rice on the side.

Now, those geoduck things you all got out west are strange critters! Tongue

The red drum is also called a channel bass, they are related to the striped bass, they are the North Carolina state game fish..........really a blast to catch!!!

They catch a smaller version off san padre island.............going to try down there one of these years!!

Fred, where are you planing on camping at Murrells Inlet? The thought of winterizing my Pod after Thanksgiving is making me blue. Sooo....maybe I can just blow out the water lines and then head down to Edisto Island around the same time for a little fishing. Hmmm .... nice dream, maybe!

Like furpod said...HBSP...Huntington Beach State Park. Great park and beautiful area. We stayed for a few nights last Feb. while doing our annual Florida trip. This year, we decided to skip Florida and spend all our time @ HBSP.

Some pics from last year:

I thought I was the only one to get RWS just didn't have a name for it.  Bought mine a little over a month ago a couple states away.  Camped two nights before coming home and used it for a weekend a couple weeks later.  It got cold here in SE PA so I winterized and washed and covered it and all I can think about is using it this spring.  I am looking forward to my nephew's wedding in April at Myrtle Beach so I will be taking the Pod instead of using a hotel.  Can anyone recommend a campground?  It appears there are several nice ones. I am looking for a full hookup with nice bathrooms as my wife has not gotten used to the wet bath yet.
