...from Reserve America cancelling our reservation at Anastasia State Park for later this month.

Apparently the Park took a hit from Hurricane Irma.  I would guess that it is fallen trees, since there was no substantial tidal surge that I heard of.

I guess we'll just hit our "home park" and spend a few days at Manatee Springs.  Actually, we really like Manatee, so it's not a total bummer.

We had reservations at the Great Smoky Mountainsa few weeks ago that were cancelled due to Irma.  They didn't tell us until we got there.  I was pretty unhappy.  But we just drove on to the Outer Banks where at first they told us they'd deal with the weather one day at a time, but by the second day we were there Irma and Jose were no risk so they lifted the day at a time deal.  The weather was fantastic.  I'm glad we ended up there.

We prefer the older section of Magnolia Loop-  fairly secluded, modern bath house and close to the day lot and spring.  Got to be a little careful during times of high water in the Suwannee as the cypress groves will flood and there's gators in them there waters!  Cry

Sorry to hear about the cancellation. Did they give you any idea when they will be in full operation again?
We enjoy camping there as well and were hoping to camp there in the near future

The recorded message included a range of dates, but I'm sorry that I do not remember them.  It seems that it is not a long closure-  maybe just long enough to mess up our plans.

Go to the web site for Florida State Parks.  I'm sure they have the closure details.  One of our favorite parks...

We have reservations there for next July....was on the Fla State Park website last week just to see park conditions.  It appeared to me to be open.  Guess I was wrong.  Sorry for your disappointment.

We had the same issue with hurricane Mathew, I believe, last year.
The original information we got indicated they were open and I think it was coopercdrkey that told me it was not.
I think I will rely on cooper from now on for my Anastasia update since they seem to like the park as much as my wife and I do

Just checked the website again and it doesn't show Anastasia as closed?!?!  Maybe they're not allowing camping yet but the day use side is open.
