Trying to watch movies on my iPad on the 179 tv monitor.  Is this possible and what are steps to do it?  Do I need a hard connection from iPad to tv?

Look for an HDMI connection.

Probably the easiest is the lightning AV adapter:

Other methods depend on wether or not you have internet connection and/or a peer-to-peer Airplay device like a later model Apple TV (which does not require internet). Some use their phone as a hotspot to create a network for ATV, Amazon Fire (stick) or Google Chromecast. You could use a travel router and setup a local network also. If you do use a mobile hotspot, be aware of data usage.

I have tried all of the above. The most reliable is a hardwire connection.

Thanks for help.  Do you know if there is a way to use blue tooth to connect to Jamison CD/stereo and then display on tv?  I am able to connect blue tooth to Jamison but unable to display on tv.

If you are talking about passing audio from the movie you are watching on your TV, you simply use a audio cable (mini-mini) from headphone jack on TV (mine has one) to AV-in jack on Jensen stereo. You can also do same from iPad, phone or laptop.
