Thanks for the encouragement.  I'll probably find a level area and set up the distribution hitch and see how I like it.

You probably don't "need" the WDH, but it sure won't hurt if you have it.

Our F-150 doesn't really "need" it either; it's rated to pull up to 5,000 lbs without a WDH, but we find it trails better with it hooked up.

Hello everyone.  Retired and thought I would like to try R-Poding although I never had even been in one. Just purchased a used 2016 RP-179.  Travelled from Pennsylvania to North Carolina to purchase it because seller stated it had been used only 4 nights.  It was like new inside although needed a bath outside.  Spent two nights in North Carolina to acquaint myself with camping. Everything worked and I slept like a log.  Trailer tracked well back to PA. I'm a happy camper. I did learn a lot from this forum as a guest.  Hope I will be able to contribute in the future.

The pod did come with a weight distribution hitch and sway bar.  I am pulling it with a 1/2 ton Silverado so I don't believe I need this hitch.  Any comments would be appreciated.
