Welcome and congrats on your 172, we have a 2011 172  and love it. Just a few pics how to increase storage.

Got our 172 on Friday with WDH. Towed well back home which was about 50 miles. Did feel light little tugs as we drove. This is the first time towing something taller than a pop-up. Were the tugs from wind?

Already have a few mods in the works to increase our storage capability. Looking forward to seeing others Podders next year.

We have dubbed ours "R Escape Pod."

Congrats on your 172. I also have a 172, a 2017.5. I absolutely love it. Its perfect for me my wife and our 90 pound pit bull. My daughter comes with us at times and sleeps on the dinette. I would recommend a good mattress topper on all of the mattresses. I put a 3 inch serta gel top on my bunks and i sleep great. The beauty of the 172, maybe all pods, is they fit in most tent sites, yet offer such a pleasurable comfort. Make sure you get the r-dome, it is the greatest addition you could want. Its like having a double-wide  trailer with a nice bugfree sitting area, or could serve as an extended sleeping pod with a cot or two. A rainy day is actually fun when you have the dome set up.

Welcome!  I don't think you're going to regret your decision.  We just went from a tent trailer to a 178 this year and after a 2 week camping trip with variable weather, we were glad we made the switch!

We looked at the 172 early on, the bunks are a nice size... should work well for your family of 4.  The rpods tow really well, so you shouldn't have a problem there.

Hope you enjoy it!
