I am looking at purchasing a R-Pod 179 and doing some traveling., due to retire shortly.  I have a 2016 F150 4X4 SCAB with 2.7 EB.  Should I look at getting a w/d hitch and do I need towing mirrors?  I have the tow package (not the max tow package) with brake controller. I will be traveling alone so not much will be in the truck.

You are good to go IMHO.  W/D hitch will soften the ride.  We have towed our 177 with a 94 F-150 with 311 K miles, an '08 Explorer and currently a '13 Explorer.  None of them had a w/d hitch on them and because of the narrow width, towing mirrors are not needed.

Welcome to this group and this forum, hopefully that 179 will be behind your F-150 soon and in your driveway, preparing for a great tour of this grand country.
