Hello!  Big-R here. That was my nickname in college decades ago so I thought I would revive it for this forum.  We have had 2 popups in the past and decided it was time to get in to something more comfortable.  We shopped around for  a while and settled on an 2018 R-Pod 179.  It fit us perfect for our RV weight restriction and it really has everything in a small, quality package.  BUT after a week of setting up and testing with my 2001 Tacoma it was obvious the Tacoma would not work well since we have many steep mountain roads in Colorado. Guess you could say we put the cart before the horse and ended up purchasing a 2011 Tundra with the 5.7 V8.  No problems now with the R-Pod weight.  Looking forward to getting out now and enjoying some nice Colorado camping in style!

Welcome and congratulations. We are towing with a Nissan Frontier. I will upgrade to a larger vehicle eventually. I want to get a diesel engine when I do upgrade.

I hope you have many fine adventures with your RP-179. We are enjoying our 2016 179 very much.

Big R, we love visiting your state so much that it is our destination to camp every other year at RMNP.  We will once again go this September to watch the elk at the Moraine campground.  More importantly we enjoy all the hiking in the park and all the spectacular views, wow what a Creator we have!  We tow our 177 with an Explorer and have been pleased with the performance of both our '08 and now '13 Explorer.  May you have many memorable times with your 179 as you enjoy that BLUE Colorado sky.  A day will come when I won't be working full-time and then we will be able to spend much more time in your state.
