    I am not sure about the tray dimensions. Just measure the width, length. Height shouldn't be an issue.
Get two boxes that fit end to end, or one double box that holds two to save more space, also the double box is easier to wire. 

6 volt batteries weigh about 62 pounds each. A 12 volt will weigh about 52 pounds each.

	You have 2 choices, two separate boxes, or a single end-to-end box that holds both. Either way, 2 6's fit.

	I'm going to replace my one 12volt battery with two 6volts. I think the 6volts are larger than the 12 volt so I'm wondering if anyone knows off-hand if the battery rack that came standard on my 172 will accommodate the larger battery boxes or will I have to have it altered? I have to order the boxes so I don't know their dimensions. I'm going with Interstate batteries. Thanks in advance.
