Been there! Sometimes chocolate works. Sometimes flowers. Most of the time, just saying, "Sorry" and then cooking dinner and cleaning kitchen works. Hope that helps! fred

I'm willing to do all that if she would figure out why I can't get the hot water to work on our R179! I turn the switch to the "on" position and hear what sound like the burner tuning on. But after about 10-15 seconds it shuts down and the DSI Fault light reappears. Propane is on, stove burners function normally. I'm hooked to city water, pressure is normal from both hot and cold kitchen spigots. Outside shower is checked and off. The manual refers to bypass valves which I cannot find anywhere. It seems like some models (maybe mine) have automatic bypass valves, but I haven't been able to determine what I really have. Nor, does the manual explain how the automatic valves are supposed to work.
I removed the vent under the bed, no valves anywhere in there. None on the outside water heater panel, either. I'm hooked to the RV park AC and water. I'm stumped.

Two things: you need to find the bypass valves and check them. They are on the inside of the pod, opposite where the water heater is on the outside. As far as I know, there's no such things as automatic bypass valves. If you're hearing the propane shut down, the bypass valves aren't your problem. You may need to let it try several times so that the system is purged of air.
If you're in a campground with electricity you can run the water heater on 120v AC in addition or instead of propane. If you do that and still don't get hot water your bypass valves are almost certainly in the winter position. TT |

Open the relief valve on the water heater to see if you have water in it if not it's the by pass. The relief valve is under the black water door.

hot water
