+1 - absolute consideration. I have no issues with 2 burner portable, but you do have to be careful, plus adding a built in cooktop requires wiring.

It's not that #)a is an issue for the cooktop.. but add in the a/c, the water heater, etc.. you could trip a breaker pulling extra amps to cook.. proper power management will be needed. |

Link
(Just making it easier to get to Mike's link) 179 is probably the only floor plan with enough counter to comfortably install a 24" cooktop.. |

Jato,
Check this one out at Amazon, $385, - True Induction TI-2B Counter Inset Double Burner Induction Cooktop, 120V, Black. The reason I didn't remove my gas stove, was for exactly what you said. No electricity, no stove. |

Understood Mike, I was looking online for a total replacement whereas you take out the suburban gas burner and install an electric burner in its place. I couldn't find that animal. I am surprised at the number of those who prefer electric over gas, We camp a lot where electricity (like national parks) is not available so in addition to the comments I made above, gas seems the likely choice.

I have a two burner, electric hot plate that works inside and outside, non-induction, works fine with 30A, it's a 110 hot plate. Lightweight and stainless. Electric alternative to the propane stove. I have never used my propane stove, other than to prove it works. I covered it and use the counter space.

DRP, I lucked out as my wife hates using electric. Takes a long time to heat up and to adjust verses gas where you have instant heat and easily adjustable to the heat range you desire. Was looking online and must agree with furpod, no electric alternative unless you use the stand alone induction plate.

I know of no electric alternative. Many owner use a stand alone induction plate. Remember, you only have 30A to play with..

They do make them. However replacing the gas cook top will probably mean the stove is only useable on shore power. We have a two burner electric that we put on a cover for the stove (home made) and use when on shore power. It is also moveable so we can put it outside to cook on. Several folks make induction hot plates, Camping World sells them. Point is many alternatives other than removing the gas stove.

I have an RPOD 179. My wife does not like using GAS. Do you know if there is an electric stove alternative?
