Just picking up used 179 (20160 and wondering can we use the air conditioner connected to 15 amp circuit with adapter. Want to see if we can use pod as 'spare' guest room for summer guest? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR INPUT!  Billy

Yes. I do all the time. But when you do don't run the microwave or plug in a vacuum on the same circuit or it will trip the breaker. Mine consumes about 13 amps when it is running. Lights are negligible but high amp items cannot be run together unless you are hooked up to 30 amp service.

Depending on what is sharing the circuit in the house, it may trip the breaker or the GFI. That happens with us. I need to trace and see what else is on that circuit.

The A/C startup surge can be a bit more than 1800 watts, but running is well under.  Depending on your house breaker, it may throw - but probably not.  Assuming that your home wiring is to current standards, you'll be fine to try it.  If you've got a 60 year old home with original wiring... I'd suggest that you look for a 20amp circut to plug into.

+1, some will, some won't, depends what else is on circuit. Also +1 to finding a 20 amp AC circuit
