Topic: Lowering TV Posted: 15 Jun 2017 at 1:56pm |
We lowered ours as well. We are in a 179. We wanted the T.V. lowered past the original wood support that forest river installed. So we just attached a piece of painted plywood to the original support and then attached the bracket to the plywood.

I lowered the tv to eye level. much better. there was a cut out for access to the shower faucetts was behind the tv which allowed me to see behind the wall. They had placed a block of wood where the screws were, and lowering it about a foot still allowed me to screw into the wood. The walls are thin wood laminated to the exterior texture.

I lowered the tv and like it better. It's more comfortable to watch at eye level. There is a cut out in the wall behind the tv for shower fawcet access. that allowed me to see behind, they had a piece of wood I was able to screw into.

Something like this would allow you to raise & lower, turn left & right, and also tilt up & down.

I agree with you Henry, someone needs to respond with the W's on what bracket they used. I suspect it was an Amazon item, but have seen nothing on what to order. Lot of posts on bracket, nothing informative.

Where can I get a tilt bracket? I would also like to be able to extend the arm.

I met a Podder this weekend who changed his entire bracket with a tilt bracket. Uses the original TV. He used the same holes for mounting.

Several have modded, so the bracket tilts, I have not. Those that have seem to be of opinion that helps view ability.

I'm wondering if they have the TV high for a reason. Maybe it's easier to see from the bed, but it's so small I would not want to watch it that far away. Or it's high for watching when you're standing up, maybe cooking or washing dishes. But TV is not that important to me. I still think lowering it to eye level will make it more comfortable to watch from the dining area for the limited time I watch it, usually just to see if the world is still standing.. I watch DVD's on my laptop..in bed!
