Hello Forum,
I was talking up the r•pods (180G) when I visited my cousin in early April.  (Cousin has put 10s of 1000s of miles on his Nash and little Casita over 17 years). A month later he calls and said he is a proud owner of a rpod 179!
  Dead I'm so jealous!  Tongue
He drove it from his home in Calif. to my home on the Oregon Coast and we took it on it's maiden journey down the Columbia Gorge, made a loop from La Grande, John Day, through the incredible Cascade mountain range with it's many dormant volcano peaks, then back to the coast.  I now love the 179 for the inside storage, big kitchen, and largest slideout dining area. He loves the electric lift, the Hood River higher axel clearance, large wheels, and...the big kitchen. It was just fine for two, non-couple people. The dining converted to a bed and I was very comfortable even with my bad back.

After camping in the 179 for a few days, I'm now waffling between the 180G and 179.  The 179 has more floor room for my big dog & little dog and 179 has the ward and pantry storage inside. I WILL be an owner within the year, but first I need to prepare a parking pad & get a truck. ..AND decide between 179 or 182G!!  What fun! Big smile

Thanks for this owners forum to keep me busy while I prepare for my first camper and rpod! Broken Heart

Decisions, decisions! We decided on the 179 and really like it. We don't have pets, but it is a great trailer for the two of us.

Hello. Just bought a 2018 model 179.  Also purchased a Maxxair vent cover but cannot figure out how to install. The 2018 model has four hooks in the roof where the brackets should be attached. I assume the hooks are to be used with a vent cover but cannot figure out how.  Anyone have the answer to this? Thank you.  Linda

Congratulations and welcome! That is something your dealer should have helped you with. Other than that, you could search for an installation video for the Maxxair vent cover.

My Maxair came with detailed install directions. Like a 15-30 minute effort. Very happy with it.

The choice was easy for us. The "G" part is a cute extension, but it doesn't really match the way we use our R-pod. Also, the garage takes up a lot of indoor space that I like to have on the inside of the wall. It seems to me that if you are doing a lot of weekend camping with outdoor picnics and such, the garage could be the way to go. You have to ask yourself those questions.
