When I plug in a small fan (designed for computer use) it runs for about a minute, then stops and it says "error" and the radio comes on? Pushing the DVD/ USB button doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi henry,

The USB connection on the Jensen stereo is for loading music from a USB stick. It's not a USB charging/power device.

Yep.. it doesn't "see"a proper device, and shuts off.
