Older Pods have the .40(9-10 mm) keder rail, newer Pods .563 (14Mmm), Welcome from a fellow Tennessean.

Hi, There is a section of thin vinyl material around the bottom of the r-dome that lays flat on the ground. It's about a foot long, and it is meant to act as a type of barrier between the bottom of the dome and the ground. There are loops on it to secure it to the ground with pegs, but they don't hold it down well in a strong storm. The pegs are thin metal rods, so the holes are not too noticeable. Not sure what year your r-pod is, but be sure to check that this dome is compatible, ours has the larger rail. The opening measures 1/2 inch on the inside. If you have an older r-pod, I think it's a bit smaller. If you want, feel free to give us a call at 931-205-3437......Randy or Connie, we live in Fayetteville.

Hi, I want an RDome for traveling with my 2 old collies and I live in Knoxville, TN. I'm not quite sure what you mean about "pounding pegs into the storm flap on the ground around the perimeter." I see what you were trying to do - secure the Dome, but not sure what the storm flap is or what kind of holes it now has in it. Sorry, I'm a newbie at all this. Love to have it work for us, though.

We have a 2016 179 that came with the r-dome. We've used it a few times, but since we rarely stay in one place very long, we don't find it that useful. The color is green and white with yellow trim. Got caught in a bad storm up on the Great Lakes with it up, so the light aluminum archway rod has a bend in it. Also, wet, cold, and angry, in the middle of the night, with strong winds and rain, I pounded some of the pegs into the storm flap on the ground around the perimeter in order to survive the storm. Other than that, it is solid, with no rips or tears. Will sell it for $200 plus shipping. Or, can meet you at a reasonable distance from where we live in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Randy and Connie. Feel free to call or text 931-205-3437.
