I have a leak in my hot water line where it connects to an elbow beneath the sink on my 2017 RP179. As a quick fix the dealer suggested I use teflon tape and tighten the connection. I did and noticed that the leak is not on the threaded side of the connection but on the opposite end. Since the plastic is not PVC, I feel that there is a piece missing such as a washer or O-ring. Although I have an appointment with the dealer, I'm on the road now. Can someone tell me how to stop the leak?

Can't look at our R-179 right now. Is the pipe PEX? I presume about 1/2" ID? There are special connectors for that stuff. Many use a thimble on the inside of the pipe, and a compression fitting on the outside. I have gotten those kinds of connectors at Home Depot, OSH, ACE, etc.
