Put it on your lawn and tell them it's a Gnome condo!

We will be paying $450 a year to store ours. They pull the units out in front for pick up, and when we drop it off, they park it. Just have to call the day before for pick up,and just walk in to drop off. But we figure that 38 a month is better than some kid tagging it!

If you make it a year before getting busted, the next year is effectively free.  Clap

I see you are a teacher, my wife is too.  She has done 4-yo through 2nd grade and right now is enjoying teaching the young-uns.

I think a lot of the price depends on whether you're in a rural area or near a big city.  Mine's currently stored in an RV Storage / Service / Sales business about 40 miles east of L.A.  We pay $64 / month, and the place is nothing fancy.  That's the cheapest spot I've found in reasonable proximity to my house.

We pay $85 per month on a month-to-month contract for a 10x20 foot site that is covered and enclosed on all four sides. No electric at site. (We get one month free by paying for a year in advance, but we can get a refund for the unused portion if we leave early.) Security is quite good with a gated entrance, cameras, and restricted hours. Light maintenance is allowed but there isn't much room to get around the R-POD in a 10x20 foot enclosure. It's about 3 miles from our house and the convenience was a major factor in choosing this facility.

We pay $50/month.  But its a 12 month contract only.  They will not go month-to-month or winter-only.

The rules at our storage lot are very strict and people are kicked-out for breaking them, but they are well communicated before you sign your lease.  Its a very secure, orderly place to store your trailer worry-free.

Our storage lot features:
- Double-gated entrance with restricted hours (basically, we can get in during daylight hours only)
- No visitors allowed in the lot / No trailer sales allowed within the lot (i.e. nobody lurking about your trailer)
- No trailer maintenance allowed on-site
- 12' high fence with barbed wire
- 10" of crushed limestone base throughout the lot to keep bugs and other critters away
- Plowed during winter, plus assistance unburrying your trailer from the snow if required
- Security dogs at night
- Firewood for sale at the exit gate at a very reasonable price

But, we didn't choose the lot for any of those reasons.  The couple who own the lot are very friendly and accomodating, the place came highly recommended by a colleague at my work and the storage lot is less than three kilometers from our home.

I'm pretty lucky as we can store ours at Home.  Sits out in the back yard on a gravel driveway for easy hookup and get away.

We pay $40 a month. Rates at this facility are based on trailer length and whether you want a pull through or not. Nice thing about the Pod is I can pull through to park even though I'm not renting a pull through spot.Smile
