thanks
I actually have 2 12-v in parallel for extended camping without hookup. These were installed by the dealer along with the 600-W solar panel. My best guess on the USB is still that it is a matter of voltage regulation during the day when there is constant solar charging, so there must have been a power surge and no protector

Stephen, what you said is how I understood it. Thanks for the confirmation. I have 2 little girls which is why omi bought the generator and I needed a new power station/Jump starter/charger anyway.
I'm certain I'll be installing some 12 volt outlets along with USB.
I considered solar, but most of the sites on the west coast have lots of nice shade, and I don't want to give up the shade just to use the panels. It's pretty amazing though if you can make it work.
Got 36 panels on my hous doing over 1150kwh per month, even in rainy April: love it! Love solar.

PS, amazing mods Stephen. I think another mod that is very intriguing is turning the queen bed into a lounge to add 6 more seats, or 3 comfortable ones. That would go well with your under bed storage mod.

I would like to put solar on our house, but we have significant shade in addition to the orientation of the roof being pretty much wrong for solar panels. North Carolina also ended the tax credits for solar installation, so it would be a much more expensive proposition.

What generator do you have? I don't recall you mentioning it before. I have the Generac iX2000. It works pretty well, but is very marginal for running the AC. It will if nothing else is running, A 3 KW generator would do much better but would be too heavy to lift by myself.

I've got a Champion 3100 rv generator. Amazing reviews and the motor is a Honda knock off. An exact duplicate from what I understand. I was like a kid who had to settle for strawberry ice cream instead of chocolate on this though. I wanted the one with the remote but Amazon won't ship it to California even though it is CARB compliant. These generators go fro anywhere from $799 to $1100, bit Amazon had the remote control model for $625 which was a steal, but they have a glitch in their system and won't ship. I called up and said I would have taken the other one for $595, but by the it was back up to $800. I asked for a manager and he gave me the one withoit the remote for $539z. I guess I can skip the remote to save $360. 😉 I really, really wanted to press the remote and make coffee on morning. Or turn it off without leaving the trailer. 😆

PS, solar is for heavy, heavy users of election power. Doesn't work financially for most people. Or it's a break even.

If I were to tap into the 12v, say behind the stereo, can I run a small inverter and maybe an endless breeze fan off that? Or, is the draw too much. I saw another guy go straight to the fuse panel for 12 volt, but that's a less desireable location.

For my CPAP machine and USB outlets that I installed in that area, I tapped into the 12V power behind the stereo. For the ones I put down at the base of the bed near the 110 outlet, I tapped into the power feeding the furnace. I did put a bigger fuse in the fuse box for that as the wire was the same gauge as the others with larger fuses. If I were really paranoid, I could put in a 5A fuse inline to the furnace, but things seem to be working okay as is. I run a fan from that outlet. As long as the draw of the items on the circuit, to include your Endless Breeze fan, total less than the amperage of the fuse, you should be fine.
