We have 4 rigs, possibly 5, coming to our little soiree in Tombstone. Most folks staying 4 nights. We
can hold a "meet & greet" at our campsite on the 27th and discuss
"the happenings". There will be a potluck and we can use the indoor
rec. hall and kitchen facilities. We can also do a "dog night" and/or
hit one of the eateries in town, we don't have to drive as there is a
shuttle service from the RV Park into town courtesy of Janice & Rick
the Park owners) many options available to tickle everyone's fancy. Here's a list of possible things to do. I fully recognize that which winds one person's main spring will not make another person's clock go tick tock necessarily. So please feel free to suggest events and things to do that you find of interest. Anytime: Visit Tombstone and see the sights, Birdcage Theater, OK Coral gunfight, courthouse museum, Big Nose Kate's Saloon, Tombstone Epitaph News Paper & Museum. 1/2 day: Visit Bisbee & Lowell - eat at the Bisbee Breakfast Club, tour the town, take a tour of the Queen Mine. Much to see in town. Full day: Fort Bowie National Historic Site at Apache Pass where a 9 year war with the Apache's began over a misunderstanding about a captured white lad who became known as Mickey Free, Indian Scout. Full day: Chiricahua National Monument, a mountain refuge for Apache tribes led by Chochise and Geronimo from which they carried out their last major raids and attacks prior to their defeat in 1886. I've not visited this area. 1/2 day plus: Kartchner Caverns located in the Whetstone Mountains these caverns are carved from limestone and have speleothems that have been growing for 50,000 years. Personally I'm not much on caverns but this place blow me away. Must purchase tickets online, very popular attraction. SOOoooo! It's on! |
